I am hoping that my new readers will have some suggestions for me regarding my dilema. What dilema, you ask? Well, I'm a self-published author so that means I do a lot of my own book sales. I do not own a smartphone - just the basic model (calls/texts/pictures).

With so many people using debit/credit cards I'm trying to decide what device to purchase. I know that once I get the device I will need to get the little card-reader. I also know that the little card-reader fits onto an iphone/smartphone, the Kindle Fire and iPad/tablets.

I would love to have a device that will serve multiple purposes. I want to be able to read eBooks, use email, take card payments and send/receive texts and access different apps.

Do any of you have something that does all this? What advise would you like to offer?

Today I presented to the local Kiwanis club after keeping a low-profile since June 2nd. I enjoy talking to people about my book, so I felt like I was in my element. Thank you Kiwanis!

I've been spending many hours each day trying to learn more about Twitter and Kindleboards.  I feel quite challenged and a bit intimidated by computers, but I realize that I must learn to e-communicate.  Send me lots of "quick learning" vibes so I can spend fewer hours staring at this screen!

This is the first post for my new blog. I am a new author and new blogger. My book, Free My Heart of Grief To Love, was made available just three days before Christmas 2011. That means that I am still in the infant stage of  learning the ropes - ie: what it feels like to be an author and just how to go about marketing. I self-published but my publisher, Borderline Publishing has been very helpful with the web-based marketing.

My book is my memoir - the true story of the losses that I have been through. I began writing in earnest when those who came to console me kept saying that I was the one making them feel better. It was at those times that I felt the affirmation that I was to make my life story public. The purpose of writing changed from simply getting it down on paper to writing to inspire and empower others.

I am looking forward to helping countless others make their way from sadness to the peace and joy that life has to offer.

My book is available through Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble.com, Istore and Borderline Publishing.
For your very own autographed paperback order directly from me. I would be happy to ship one to you and you can pay through PayPal.
